Original Paintings (diptych)
Acrylic and wax pastel on canvas
Natural oak float frame
Two × 91.5 × 122cm
“Part of my latest body of work, A Feeling of Somewhere, Somewhere in the Wild 1 & 2 brings together memories of the remote Australian landscapes I love. Across the two canvases, flowing water, wildflowers, distant mountains and golden riverbanks emerge among weathered trees, red rock and brown earth. Layers of colour and intuitive marks capture the changing seasons and the feeling of being immersed in wild country. Painted from memories and emotion, the landscape revealed itself as I worked, becoming a place both familiar and imagined.”
